Favorite lyric - from the Flaming Lips
ReplyDeleteAnd instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun don'-go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Just these stark words, I find.
I'd show a smile, but i'm too weak,

Just how much this, hurts me.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite right now is "This is who I am. Escapist. Paradise seeker. Farewell, time to fly, out of sight, out of time, away from all lies. A nightingale in a golden cage, that's me locked inside reality's maze." -- The Escapist - Nightwish
danceordie9173@gmail.com
From Bruce Springstein's Thunder Road:
ReplyDeleteThe screen door slams, Mary's dress waves.
Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays.
Roy Orbison's singing for the lonely; hey that's me and I want you only.
Don't turn me home again; I just can't face myself alone again.
Don't run back inside, darling you know just what I'm here for.
So you're scared and you're thinking that maybe we ain't that young anymore.
Show a little faith, there's magic in the night.
You ain't a beauty, but hey you're alright - oh and that's alright with me.
The Roy Orbison line is my favorite in that verse, but the whole verse is pretty good.
"You said that you could let it, well i wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know.

ReplyDeleteLyrics from Pain Three Days Grace
Pain, without love
Pain, I can’t get enough
Pain, I like it rough
‘Cause I’d rather feel pain than nothing at all
You’re sick of feeling numb
You’re not the only one
I’ll take you by the hand
And I’ll show you a world that you can understand
This life is filled with hurt
When happiness doesn’t work
Trust me and take my hand
When the lights go out you will understand

Come Over by Kenny Chesney
ReplyDeleteturn the tv off, to turn it on again
Staring at the blades of the fan as it spins around
Counting every crack, the clock is wide awake
Talking to myself, anything to make a sound
I told you I wouldn't call, I told you I wouldn't care
But baby climbing the walls gets me nowhere
I don't think that I can take this bed getting any colder
Come over, come over, come over, come over, come over
Ohh take your time, don't live too fast. Troubles will come, and they will pass. Go find a woman and you'll find love. And don't forget son, there is someone up above.

Sad Songs EltonJohn
ReplyDeleteGuess there are times when we all need to share a little pain
And ironing out the rough spots
Is the hardest part when memories remain
And it's times like these when we all need to hear the radio
`Cause from the lips of some old singer
We can share the troubles we already know
Turn them on, turn them on
Turn on those sad songs
When all hope is gone
Why don't you tune in and turn them on
They reach into your room
Just feel their gentle touch
When all hope is gone
Sad songs say so much
If someone else is suffering enough to write it down
When every single word makes sense
Then it's easier to have those songs around
The kick inside is in the line that finally gets to you
and it feels so good to hurt so bad
And suffer just enough to sing the blues
Sad songs, they say
Sad songs, they say
Sad songs, they say
Sad songs, they say so much

If I know only one thing,
ReplyDeleteit's that everything that I see
Of the world outside is so inconceivable often I barely can speak
Yeah I'm tongue-tied and dizzy and I can't keep it to myself
What good is it to sing helplessness blues, why should I wait for anyone else?
And I know, I know you will keep me on the shelf
I'll come back to you someday soon myself
